11 years on, and we’re still hungry to do more.

This year, we’re stepping out of our dining room to cook for children who may never have dined with us before - and that’s the point.

Every Buckwheat Fried Chicken you order helps us plan a proper luncheon at 3 Shelter Homes. Imagine tables with laughter, maybe a bit of mess, and definitely second helpings.

This is an extension of how we believe meals should work - they bring people together, carry stories in each bite, and say, “you matter”.

How It Works:

• Order our signature Buckwheat Fried Chicken - dine-in or takeaway - from 3 June - 1 July 2025.

  • Half Fried Chicken (3pcs) = RM5 contribution.

  • Full Fried Chicken (6pcs) = RM10 contribution.

• Funds raised will be used to organize a special meal for over 50 children & staff at Shelter - Home for Children.

• Any remaining funds will be used to support the children’s ongoing needs, decided together with Shelter.

SHELTER - Home For Children

Shelter Home is a welfare organization aiding abused, abandoned, neglected or at-risk children. SHELTER Home for Children started as a result of the vision of a group of seven friends who wanted to help the children in a squatter settlement along Old Klang Road. They initiated tuition classes so that the children could do better in their studies.

• Shelter Homes are a form of Restorative Care, in which children who have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment are cared for and helped to regain love and self worth.

• Shelter After School aims to provide a safe space for children living in under served compact housing communities to have purposeful activities under proper supervision. It is also to shield them from potential negative influences. The safe space is an avenue for them to keep up with their studies with the help of volunteers.
